When I purchased my first professional camera (by selling my previous camera) I realized that while I had taken a huge step forward in my professional life, I had created a problem in my personal life. I was scared to take my “fancy” camera along to everyday activities. This feeling has become much more intense after having a toddler. Take my camera, the instrument of my livelihood, to the playground or the pool? That’s a pretty scary thought. . .
When I got an iPhone for my birthday, my problem was solved! The new iPhone has a pretty snazzy camera, and I’m finally able to take shots absolutely whenever I want to. Of course, even with a great camera, a phone picture is still inferior to one taken with my professional camera. But, there is so much freedom in being able to capture a picture any time, any place.
This has been especially wonderful for capturing moments surrounding the birth of our baby girl. At times when I don’t have the time or energy to fire up my real camera, my iPhone is always right by my side and ready to go!
There is an app you can get on smartphones called Instagram, which crops your pictures to a square dimension and has some neat photo effects. It also gives you the ability to share your photos with friends. It’s my new addiction!
So without further ado (and with apologies to my Instagram friends for the photo repeats), here is what our life has looked like for the past 3 months.

LOVE IT!
